The ceremonies began with the solemn arrival of the Patriarch and Bishop-Elect. They processed to the secretarium, a small chapel in which Terce was sung while the Patriarch vested for mass. After the Gospel and sermon in the solemn pontifical mass from the throne, the first rites of consecration took place. Archbishop Rowzie took the episcopal oath and then prostrated before the altar while the Litany of the Saints was sung. He was then consecrated by the laying on of hands. Returning to the sanctuary vested in pontifical mass vestments, he was anointed with Holy Chrism and presented with his crosier, ring, and the Book of Gospels. Archbishop Rowzie then con-celebrated the mass.

After communion, the mitre was placed on Archbishop Rowzie's head and the episcopal gloves were placed on his hands. Then, standing in front of the altar and holding his new crosier, he then gave his first solemn pontifical blessing, beginning the chant by singing the words Sit nomen Domini benedictum (Blessed be the Name of the Lord). The Patriarch then wished the new Bishop many years with the traditional Ad multos annos.

After the mass, Archbishop Rowzie was enthroned as the Metropolitan of the Southeast. Kneeling before the throne, he received the pallium from the Patriarch. He was then seated in the throne and given authority to pastor his flock.

Update: Since this article, Harris Rowzie is no longer affiliated with the Anglican Rite Roman Catholic Church.  In subsequent tribunal proceedings, Harris Rowzie was deposed, excommunicated, and degraded to the lay state. Property of the Patriarchal See in his custody was not returned as requested.
